Diane has over 33 years experience in administrative services. She works with our Valuation & Appraisal, Management Consulting, and Farm Asset Management specialists in completing professional reports for our clients. Diane ensures that our reports are professionally presented in a consistent format that our clients have come to know. Her administrative expertise allows our specialist to concentrate on producing value added results to our clients.

Todd grew up on a mixed irrigated crop farm in southern Alberta where he has actively been involved with business operations. He also has experience operating and managing a custom farming operation. Todd’s education in agricultural business management and previous work experience have provided him with strong economic and analytic skills.

Trevor has a background in agricultural economics. He has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia and his AACI accreditation. Trevor has completed many appraisals and consulting projects pertaining to agriculture and agricultural property, including: mortgage, estate, expropriation, surface rights and native land claims.

Bob, a senior partner with Serecon, has over 30 years experience as a professional evaluator and analyst. He is an expert in using both quantitative and qualitative information in assessing the impact of critical factors on the value of business operations. Bob has owned and managed agri-food business enterprises, including a dairy farm and a poultry processing operation. Bob is on the Board of Directors for a number of organizations including Meadowcroft Housing Corporation, Mattheson Seniors Housing Corporation, and Brentwood Homes. Among other designations Mr. Burden is a Certified Valuations Analyst (CVA), a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag), and holds a Masters degrees in Business and Agriculture.
Glen has a background in agricultural economic and provides specialized consulting services in the areas of rural/agricultural business appraisals, farm agri-business management and farm financial management. Glen has completed innumerable real estate appraisals relating to expropriation and surface rights situations throughout Alberta, as well as mortgage, estate, expropriation, and native land claims. He has provided expert witness testimony qualified in the areas of real estate appraisal and agrology before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Alberta Surface Rights Board, the Alberta Utilities Commission, and the Alberta Energy Regulator.

Scott graduated from the University of Regina in 2013 with a Bachelor in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, and later completed a Certificate of Economics from the University of Regina in 2014. Scott consults on various valuation and appraisal projects located in Saskatchewan. Scott has completed his Post-Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia in 2016 and is currently working towards his AACI designation.

Don, a partner with Serecon, has over 40 years of professional experience in business analysis, finance, and project management. He has worked in the areas of economic analysis, marketing, business management, farm management, financial management and property and business valuations throughout Canada. He owned and operated a 5,500 acre grain and oilseeds operation in the Peace River region of northern Alberta. Don is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.), a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) a Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC), and a Certified AACI Appraiser.

Courtney Knude has over 20 years of experience in the appraisal of rural property. Courtney has completed assignments on a wide variety of properties including farmland, ranch land, future development properties, recreational properties, acreages, equestrian properties and intensive livestock operations. Courtney’s reports have been prepared for expropriation hearings, the Surface Rights Board, the Ecological Gift Program, foreclosure purposes, divorce proceedings and estate and tax settlement. Courtney has developed skills in appraising special and unique properties where limited market data requires extensive research and careful analysis. Courtney has appeared as an expert witness for the Surface Rights Board and the Court of Queen’s Bench.
Lisa grew up on a mixed farm south of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She works on projects pertaining to valuation and consulting, primarily in the areas of data research and geographic analysis. Lisa has a diploma in Real Estate Appraisal and Assessment from Lakeland College; a Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia; and a Certificate in GIS Technology from NAIT.

An original member of Serecon, Cheryl manages the day to day operations of the office, and is responsible for financial reporting, A/R, A/P, and payroll. Cheryl obtained a Certificate of Business Management, with Honors, through Grant MacEwan College.

Fred consults in the area of agricultural loss of income for various reasons including among others, personal injury, herbicide damage, and fire. Fred also assists with First Nation land claims, surface rights negotiations, and feasibility studies. He has worked with Siksika's range management crew for a number of years on their native range projects. Fred holds a Masters in Science - Agriculture, and is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.).

Angela has over 30 years of experience in natural sciences, and in agricultural and natural resource economics. Ms. Pearson’s work has included program evaluation and market analysis for a variety of agri-food ventures. Ms. Pearson has also conducted analyses of various critical interactions between the economy and environment, with emphasis on measurement of environmental sustainability. Angela has a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Alberta, and an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Alberta.

Bruce, a senior partner with Serecon, has over 39 years of experience as a professional working in agriculture. He has completed numerous appraisals relating to expropriation and surface rights situations throughout Canada and provided expert testimony concerning rural real estate appraisal and agrology before the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, Alberta Surface Rights Board and the Alberta Land Compensation Board. Mr. Simpson has carried out numerous land use studies on Native Land Claims. Mr. Simpson also has experience with feasibility studies, viability assessments, and land use studies. He is Professional Agrologist (P.Ag) and Certified AACI Appraiser.

Brad’s professional practice is founded on providing objective opinions of value for real property assets and operations. He completes traditional appraisal and valuation reports for all types of rural real estate and agricultural operations such as farmland, agri-business, country residential, recreational, future development/urban fringe, and commercial/industrial properties. In addition, he provides various services that are designed around clients’ needs that involves thorough research, in-depth analysis, and supported conclusions. Brad has completed projects throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and internationally.
Clients include numerous organizations and individuals in the public and private sectors including landowners, farmers, financial institutions, law firms, oil & gas companies, utility companies, investment funds, and government. Brad has provided expert testimony before the Alberta Surface Rights Board and the Court of Queen’s Bench. Brad works with each client to provide their specific valuation needs such as financial, tax purposes, expropriation, surface rights, conservation easements, litigation & expert witness, dispute resolution, and accounting requirements.

Mike has extensive experience in risk and performance management as well as in decision support systems design. He is also very knowledgeable in the area of management accounting and control systems through his international work experience.
He grew up on a family farm in Ukraine and his family also managed a regional state-owned Ag chemicals application and distribution center in the Soviet Union. This hands on experience helps provide significant context for his current business practice. Before moving to Canada, Mike worked as a Country Control Manager for AB InBev (Labatt Breweries).
He holds a Masters degrees in Agriculture and Business from the University of Alberta and is a designated Chartered Global Management Accountant (the UK/USA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Mike will soon have a CPA, CMA designation through the mutual recognition agreement between Canadian CPA and CIMA (the UK).
David has over 10 years of experience providing agricultural property appraisal and consulting services. David has completed a number of appraisal assignments for a variety of purposes, including: mortgage; estate; conservation easements; expropriation; and native land claims. David has assisted on numerous appraisal and consulting engagements that have been accepted as expert reports before various tribunals and court litigation. He is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) and a certified AACI Appraiser.

Markus has experience as a lawyer, a farmer/rancher, and as a senior government executive. As a Deputy Minister for 7 years, he developed a thorough understanding of the policy-development process for high-profile initiatives and managed large interdisciplinary teams.
Markus grew up and worked extensively on a 9,000 acre farm near Camrose, Alberta growing grains, oilseeds, and beef cattle. His roles included early adoption of variable-rate fertilizer technology and other precision management. A strategist, he has worked for a large variety of clients at Serecon -- public sector, private businesses, and agricultural industry organizations. In addition to policy-focused work, he excels at quantification and the development of technology-related tools for agriculture.
Markus holds three degrees from the University of Alberta: a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (1992), a Masters in Business Administration (1996), and his Legum Baccalaureus (1997). He has been a Professional Agrologist under the Alberta Institute of Agrologists since 2012.
In 2015, Markus co-founded LandView Drones with Don Hoover and others at Serecon. LandView expands on the work of Paul Barlott's LandView software as a value-added reseller of unmanned aerial vehicle-based remote sensing bundles for farmers and agronomists.
