Rocky View County - Wheatland County - Farm Appraisals

The eastern portion of Rocky View County and the western portion of Wheatland County, generally near Highway 1, saw farmland values increase modestly over the land year for quality cropland. Ongoing appraisal and consulting projects in this region indicates that the farmland value trend appreciated about 5% since the summer of 2020. The value trend closer to Calgary has generally been more or less stable as demand for such lands softened with the onset of the pandemic and associated lockdowns. Our appraisers continue to watch this trend as well as researching the impact of limited moisture in the greater area and how that may impact demand for farmland moving forward.
