Ponoka County - Farm Appraisals

Quarter sections with mostly open, cultivated farmland experienced strong demand over the last year in the central portion of Ponoka County. A large number of transactions indicated that quality land increased approximately 15% over the last twelve months. Our appraisers note that dairy operators have largely been the drivers of the real estate marketplace in this area as these farmers look to expand their existing operations. In addition to land appraisals, the appraisers have also been consulting on dairy valuations in this area as well as in the general Lacombe area. Other intensive livestock operation projects such as feedlots, dairy, hog, and poultry farms have also occurred recently near Stony Plain, Camrose, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Taber, Saskatoon, and Estevan.
