Dr. Ashmead, a partner in Serecon, has been involved in economic, rural development, policy and financial consulting projects with federal and provincial governments. He has also provided consulting services within the agri-business and farming sectors. He has been involved in international consulting, business, and joint venture development in China, Egypt, the Philippines, Kazakstan, and Trinidad -Tobago in value added agricultural business ventures.

Dr. Ashmead has been the project manager on behalf of AGRA Earth & Environmental, for a $30 million bilateral Canada-Egypt rural development project in Egypt between 1998 and 2000.

He has consulted with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), focused on business development, consulting and training in the Eastern Caribbean Islands, and Chile.
